Online Dating - 2007/06/14 23:52 So what do you guys think about online dating websites? Yahoo personals, Black People Meet, E-harmony...any of them?

Do you ever wonder if there is a link between the amount you pay to gain full access to the "good stuff" and the chance of having a better selection?

What percentage of profiles are actually truthful?

I know someone who got married to someone she met while online so I guess these things can work.

Re:Online Dating - 2007/06/17 17:47 Nakia,

A lot of people in my circle have just been started to test the online waters. In some ways I think it makes dating a bit easier particularly when you have a busy life (like most of us do). Also since many women (myself included) have a hard time approaching guys online dating sites can help to bypass that process.

However, since the sites are businesses I do believe that there are some amount of "game" involved in terms of what you get for what you pay for.

I do know a friend of a friend who is engaged from eHarmony. Ultimately though most people I know who have met their match met them through the tried and true meeting a friend of a friend method.

Personally, I am open to whatever it takes to meeting someone quality. However some sites like yahoo and black people meet and craigslist are just a bit too random. I think sites like eHarmony help weed out some of the pickings in a way that makes the process palatable.
